About Michael
I am an aspiring user experience designer with more than 10 years of experience as a musician, arts administrator, and educator. In addition to a Bachelors in Music and Arts Administration and a Masters in World Music, I’ve recently completed the Google UX Design Professional Certificate with the goal of bringing my design skills and experience to the forefront of my career.
As a musician and educator, I have performed, studied, and taught music with and to people of all ages and from a wide variety of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds, and as an arts administrator I have worked in a number of operations-focused roles where I helped multiple small businesses develop efficient, user-centered infrastructures so that aspiring students, other educators, and professional musicians like Jon Batiste, Ari Lennox, American Authors, and more could efficiently do the same.
My favorite thing about my experience in the music industry has been getting to experience the immense and beautiful diversity of the world. I genuinely love any opportunity I have to share that with other people, and I believe well-designed, accessible technology can be a uniquely exciting means to that end. User experience design combines my operations-focused mindset as well as my web and graphic design experience with my passion to create equitable opportunities on a global level.
